Abstract

Grammarians and linguists, both ancient and modern, have been interested in vowels and have written many books, as they are among the most changed and affected letters. The research came to shed light on the modern scholars in their treatment of the morphological weights of vowels, and to explain what happened in the vowel of i'lal during its various conjugations, and to point out the principle of duality and the opinion of the ancients about it and how to arrange it. The research began with an introduction, and then an introduction to the language and the connection between the Arabic language and the Semitic language Then, explaining how the modern scholars divided the disorders based on their theories and what they were affected by them, and explaining the stages and developments that these disorders went through and their relationship to the languages of the Bedouin tribes and the Semitic, Jazari, Hebrew, Syriac and other languages. Modern scholars have presented new classifications for defective verbs based on modern theories, influenced by Semitic and Jazitic languages. Also, the principle of binarity was present in the treatment of patterns, as their arrangement differed between ancient and modern scholars. The development of nouns from sound to defective reflects a gradual historical and linguistic progression, linked to phonetic changes and inflection.
